When and where do you deliver?
We currently deliver to most parts of mid-Bedfordshire, south
Bedfordshire, Bletchley, Milton Keynes and surrounding villages.
See below to find out which day we deliver to you. If you live in
mid-Bedfordshire, south Bedfordshire, Bletchley or Milton Keynes
and your town/village is not listed on any of the delivery days
below, please e-mail us to find out if/when we deliver to your area.

How does it all work?
Local’s Best is primarily a box scheme, therefore we ask that
you order a vegetable selection box or a meat selection box or both.
You can then add extra vegetables meat, eggs or preserves to your
box. In exceptional circumstances, for example if you an elderly
person living on your own or your family are extremely fussy eaters,
we can be flexible and allow you to order only individual items
from the online shop. In this case, please note that our minimum
order value is £8.99.
How often do you deliver?
You can have your order delivered once a week, once a fortnight,
once a month or as a one-off/trial.
When do I need to have my order in by?
Please place your order by end of day (midnight) on Tuesday for
delivery that week.
What if I’m away on
holiday or want to skip a week?
Please let us know by the end of day (midnight) on Tuesday if you
would like to skip a vegetable box. The easiest way to do this is
to e-mail us.
What if I am not in when
you deliver?
You don’t have to be in when we deliver. Simply specify a
safe place for us to leave your order (for example porch, garden
shed) in the appropriate box on the checkout page. Our meat items
are packed in insulated boxes with ice packs which maintain the
correct temperature for at least 24 hours. If it is raining when
we deliver your order, it will be placed inside a plastic bag.
Do you charge for packaging
and delivery?
We deliver free of charge. However you will be charged a £5
deposit for the insulated box and ice packs if you order a meat
item unless you are at home to put the meat into your refrigerator
when we deliver. We will refund the £5 if you leave the packaging
out for us to collect when we deliver to you next. Please also leave
our vegetable boxes out for us to keep our costs and environmental
impact to a minimum. If it is raining when we are due to deliver,
please put the boxes in a sheltered place or put them in a bin bag
to keep them dry.
Do you have a minimum order
value?
Our minimum order value is £8.99.
What if there are vegetables
that I/my family don’t like?
You will have the opportunity to tell us about these on the checkout
page and we will make sure that you don’t receive them in
your selection box.
Packaging and Recycling
How will my goods be packaged?
The vegetables are delivered in reusable boxes for which we charge
a £1 deposit. You will get this back if you leave the packaging
out for us to collect when we deliver to you next. If it is raining
when we are due to deliver, please put the packaging in a sheltered
place or put it in a bin bag to keep it dry.
How will you ensure that the vegetables remain
fresh in the summer?
We deliver in a refrigerated van and we will put disposable ice
packs in the boxes in the summer months to ensure that the vegetables
remain fresh until you can put them in your fridge.
Payment and Security
When do I pay for the goods?
You will be charged for your goods after they have been dispatched.
If you ask us to deliver your order weekly, fortnightly or monthly,
we will charge the cost of the box to your card automatically unless
you tell us otherwise.
How do you charge for meat
items?
Most of our meat items are charged by weight. The weights and therefore
prices of the meat items may vary slightly. The price of the meat
items will be shown clearly on the packaging and your card will
be charged accordingly.
Is it safe to order goods
over the internet?
We use a third-party, Protx, to collect and process your payment
details. All sensitive information is encrypted to ensure that the
information is secure and tamper-proof. The Protx web servers are
certified by Verisign and the company is regularly audited by Visa
and MasterCard to ensure that their systems conform to the latest
security standards.
Do you pass my details on
to other companies?
Absolutely not. We will only use your personal information for the
purpose for which you provide it to us. We never pass on personal
details of our customers to third parties.
